Nobody survived EKO Boys without a nickname.
Nicknames were compulsory.
Some were funny.
Some were dangerous.
Some needed deliverance.
We had:
- Túrúkú,
- Dúdú,
- ỌmọÌyáOlogi,
- Old Soldier,
- Ejò,
- Mẹ́ntẹ̀rẹ̀,
- Onfoloke,
- Opiro,
- SMD,
- Belau,
- GéJù,
and many others.
Some names sounded like wrestling champions.
Others sounded like armed robbery suspects.
But every nickname carried history.
THIRTY YEARS LATER…

Look at us now.
The boys of Mushin became men of the world.
Some now speak grammar with British accents.
Some sign contracts bigger than our entire school budget.
Some preach in pulpits.
Some teach in universities.
Some lead companies.
Some still lead WhatsApp arguments.
But deep inside…we are still those boys laughing at the back of the class.
Still united by memories,
mischief,
survival,
and friendship.
